According to surveys by the Provincial Bureau of Geology and Mineral Resources from 1985 to 1987, the water in the park contains no toxic elements or components such as arsenic, lead, mercury, or cadmium. In addition, it mostly flows through sparsely populated or virtually uninhabited dense forests and secluded valleys, so the water quality is clear and transparent, with spring water being especially excellent. The groundwater seeping and filtering out from the rocks is of the calcium-magnesium carbonate type, with a pH value of 7.44–7.8. The pH value of the four streams—Jinbian Stream, Pipa Stream, Hua Stream, and Shadao Gully—is 7.8, with a mineralization degree of 0.06–0.14 g/L. They belong to the HCO3-Ca and HCO3-Mg·Ca soft water types, with total hardness of 1.42–6.3 German degrees, all meeting the Grade I drinking water standard for neutral, extremely soft water.
