"A Brief Biography of Nie Er" was recorded by Hunan People's Radio in 1953. The drama introduces the main deeds in the life of the people's musician Nie Er and the songs he created praising the working people and calling for the anti-Japanese national salvation movement. The whole drama is 30 minutes long and is the station's first single-episode radio drama that was self-written, self-directed, and self-performed, as well as the first radio drama ever broadcast on China National Radio.

Hunan's Feature Film with the Most International Film Awards — "Postmen in the Mountains"

"Postmen in the Mountains" was shot by Xiaoxiang Film Studio in 1998 and is Hunan's feature film with the most international film awards. Directed by Huo Jianqi and starring Teng Rujun and Liu Ye, it is a film full of artistic beauty, fully displaying Oriental sentiment and cultural connotation, and is a representative Oriental film. "Candlelight Lights Up Life" is a feature film first invested in and shot by Hunan Satellite TV in 2008, and is China's first film with the fight against ice and disaster relief as its major background. The Publicity Department of the Hunan Provincial Party Committee and the Hunan Provincial Administration of Radio and Television have designated the film as a tribute film for the 60th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China and as a candidate film for the "Five-One" Project Award of the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee. The film takes the ice disaster of spring 2008, the worst in fifty years, as its background, chooses the most severely affected location — Chenzhou, Hunan — as its shooting location, and takes as its main storyline the true story of the medical staff of Chenzhou First People's Hospital overcoming all difficulties to rescue and protect 222 "ice and snow babies" during more than 20 days when the whole city had no water or electricity, reflecting how, under the leadership of the Chenzhou Municipal Party Committee and Municipal Government, people from all walks of life fought in coordination and united as one, ultimately defeating the ice and snow disaster.
