Tianzi Mountain Cableway Company was established on December 7, 1995, a wholly foreign-owned enterprise invested by Hong Kong Anda International Co., Ltd. It officially began operation in May 1997. The Tianzi Mountain Cableway is a single-line circulating detachable grip passenger cableway, with all equipment imported from Austria's Doppelmayr company. The cableway has a total length of 2,084 meters, a vertical drop of 692 meters, 38 enclosed sightseeing cabins, a one-way hourly passenger capacity of 960 people, and a fastest one-way travel time of 6 minutes and 26 seconds.
Mr. Xu Yixing, current vice president of the Zhangjiajie Taiwan Business Investment Enterprise Association, is a native of Taipei with a major in architectural design, who formerly served as general manager of an architecture company in Taipei. He came to Zhangjiajie in 2001 as deputy general manager of Hunan Wulingyuan Cableway Co., Ltd. Two years later, due to his outstanding work performance, he gained the trust of the board members and was promoted to general manager of the company.
Mr. Xu Yixing has a strong sense of work responsibility. In the six years since coming to Zhangjiajie, he has stayed at his post during the Spring Festival, May Day, and National Day long holidays every year. Strict management, quality service, and excellent equipment have earned the Tianzi Mountain Cableway a rating as one of the top ten cableways in the country, and the company's performance has grown year by year. The company has long been enthusiastic about social welfare, caring for and actively participating in education on the mainland, and from 2001 to 2006 donated a cumulative total of more than 1.98 million yuan to Hunan's Project Hope. Mr. Xu is one of the founding leaders of the association, actively participates in its activities, and has also helped many Taiwanese businessmen newly arrived in Zhangjiajie solve difficulties in production and daily life. He also actively promotes Zhangjiajie's tourism resources and facilitates cross-strait people-to-people exchanges.
