I am very grateful to this land of beautiful mountains and waters, Zhangjiajie, for nurturing me, a man from Hubei. If the mountains and waters of Zhangjiajie had not given me a job; I would just be an ordinary farmer, without so many work opportunities, without an annual income of tens of thousands, and unable to achieve a harmonious moderately prosperous life. I would be holding back the building of a harmonious moderately prosperous socialist society with Chinese characteristics,
Others say I am outstanding, but that is not the truth. A man of thirty still working as a tour guide should not be considered an outstanding man. It is only because from the bottom of my heart I love and enjoy being a tour guide that I am a bit more diligent than others. Every year the total number of tour groups I lead is always more than 55, which means that in a year I spend 300 days in the scenic area. Whether the tour group is large or small, I receive them earnestly; whether they are from Henan or Shanghai, I provide considerate and thoughtful service; I do not get depressed just because leading a group does not make money; I do not go wild with joy just because leading a group makes money; I do not treat visitors carelessly just because they have no money; I do not sell out our great mountains and my dignity to cater to certain tastes of visitors just because they have money. I do not flatter, and I am not snobbish. I deeply love the mountains and waters of Zhangjiajie, I deeply love the profession of tour guide, and I am also a person with self-respect and self-strength! To every person who comes to travel in Zhangjiajie, I provide thoughtful service, reception that meets standards, detailed commentary, and sincerely earn legitimate profit.
In addition, there is one more point: after many years as a tour guide, I have never said I wanted to complain about anyone, including scenic area interpreters, ticket sellers at the windows, scenic area staff, hotel and restaurant waiters, and front desk receptionists, because I understand that respecting others is respecting oneself. I treat everyone with courtesy, and every time I always take the initiative to say to others: Good morning, good afternoon, or hello. I dare say that not a single ticket seller at any window in the Zhangjiajie scenic area knows my name is Zhang Yong, but every ticket seller knows me. When you help others, you feel happy; when others help you, you feel even happier. You give others a drop of water, and others will give you a bowl of water. Let me give everyone an example: a few days ago I was buying a ticket at the Huangshizhai cableway, and I did not know the ticket seller.. When someone who does not even know you still helps you like that, at that moment I felt I was the happiest tour guide.
A person who knows gratitude must be a very happy person. Treat everyone around you well! As a tour guide, I have summed up two pieces of experience: First, do not oppose the Communist Party. You will feel happy to be living in the great socialist China; second, do not oppose your wife, and you will feel the happiness of family.
