Main Attractions in Zhangjiajie:
Baizhang Gorge
Baizhang Gorge is located in the southern part of the Suoxiyu Scenic Area and consists of three gorges: Baizhang Gorge, Dongjia Valley, and Wangjia Valley. Baizhang Gorge is located in the middle of Chaqi Valley. In ancient times, this gorge had many apes, with sheer cliffs and a peculiar gorge, and the terrain was strategically important, making it an ancient pass. According to the Qing Dynasty Daoguang “Yongding County Annals”: “On the cliff of Baizhang Gorge there is a ‘Silver Arrow Stone,’ hanging high on the cliff, silver in color, with characters on it, visible but unreachable.” It is said that in the early Ming Dynasty, Qin Chu rebelled, and the court set up a pass here. It is also said that King Xiang raised a flag in rebellion and fought the government troops a hundred times at the mouth of Baizhang Gorge, hence it is also called Baizhang Gorge. Among them, Shaping Pastoral Fields, Baizhang Gorge Cliff, and Bazhu Pool are the most wondrous and beautiful.
Furong Town
Furong Town was originally named “Wang Village.” It is an ancient town with Tujia ethnic characteristics and more than two thousand years of history and culture, and it is the gateway to the Mengdong River waterway tourism. It has a long history. The bluestone long street of those years still stretches along the slope, and Tujia stilted houses are built along the slope. The entire ancient town is well preserved, and Tujia customs are fully displayed.

Zhangjiajie National Forest Park is known for its wondrous peaks, secluded waters, and beautiful forests. Its main attractions include Golden Whip Stream and Huangshizhai. Within its territory, groups of peaks rise from the ground like giant bamboo shoots proudly pointing to the sky. The stream water spreads like colorful ribbons among thousands of mountains and ravines.
Jiutian Cave
Jiutian Cave is located 12 kilometers from Sangzhi County in Zhangjiajie and is one of Zhangjiajie's well-known attractions. It is named because there are nine skylights in the cave connecting to the ground. It is divided into upper, middle, and lower levels, with the lowest level 420 meters below the surface. The total area reaches more than 250 square meters. Inside the cave there are 40 halls, 3 underground rivers, 12 waterfalls, 5 natural bridges, 6 areas of thousand-field terraces, and 3 natural lakes. Stalagmites and stalactite columns stand in forests; stone curtains and stone draperies are everywhere.

It is closely connected with Tianzi Mountain and Zhangjiajie National Forest Park, sharing the same lineage and the same water flow, and all belong to the karst sandstone peak forest landform group.
The Suoxiyu Scenic Area has peculiar scenery and a complete range of categories. Mountain stones, forests, lakes and waterfalls, karst caves, seas of clouds, and rare birds and animals are all integrated into one, forming a complete tourism system, and it is also the place with the richest variety of attractions in the entire Wulingyuan Scenic Area.
Yellow Dragon Cave
Yellow Dragon Cave is located east of Suoxiyu, about 10 kilometers from Jundiping, and can be reached by special tourist bus. It is called the “Underground Magic Palace.” The cave entrance is shrouded in mist, and the corridors inside wind along. There are also many stalagmites, stalactite columns, stone curtains, stone harps, stone draperies, stone flowers, and stalactites, too many to take in. It is also intricately intertwined, evolving into “caves outside caves,” “buildings outside buildings,” “heavens outside heavens,” and “mountains outside mountains.” The cave can be divided into four levels, with a vertical height of about 160 meters, advancing by both water and land, forming one reservoir (Yellow Dragon Water Cave), two rivers (Xiangshui River and Crystal River), three waterfalls (Yellow Dragon Waterfall, Tianshui Waterfall, and Tiandi Waterfall), four pools, thirteen halls (palaces) (Dragon Dance Palace, Crystal Palace, Enchanting Palace, etc.), and ninety-six corridors, with a length of 13 kilometers. The largest hall has 12,000 square meters and can accommodate ten thousand people!
Tianzi Mountain

It is one of the three major scenic areas of Wulingyuan. Tianzi Mountain covers an area of 67 square kilometers. The highest point, Kunlun Peak, is 1,262 meters above sea level, and the lowest point, Sinan Valley, is 534 meters above sea level. Tianzi Mountain is located in the hinterland of Wulingyuan, with high terrain, and scenery can be viewed from all sides. It has the characteristics of a long line of sight, broad picture, and rich layers of scenery. Some people comment: “Who knows the source?” It has many peaks, high peaks, and strange peaks—truly peaks beyond peaks and peaks within peaks. Tianzi Mountain is known for its four wonders: clouds and mist, moon and sunset glow, hundred days, and winter snow. Tianzi Mountain is known as the kingdom of Chinese herbal medicine, with more than 500 kinds of common medicinal materials. Tianzi Mountain's tortoise-shell ancient books are one of Wulingyuan's specialties. Crafts carved from tortoise-shell ancient books are deeply loved by tourists. Tianzi Mountain has five scenic tour areas: Huanglongzhu, Fengqi Mountain, Laowu, Chapanta, and Shijiayan.
