It is located in the core area of the Wulingyuan scenic and historic interest area in Zhangjiajie, 8 kilometers from Tianzi Mountain, 1.5 kilometers from the Wulingyuan District government, and 8 kilometers from Yellow Dragon Cave. The Baofeng Lake scenic area integrates mountains and waters and blends in folk customs. It is especially famous for the wonderful spectacle of a high gorge and calm lake, the Baofeng Flying Waterfall that 'plunges down three thousand feet,' and the mysterious ancient temple deep in the mountains.
The main scenic spots of Baofeng Lake consist of two major parts: Baofeng Lake and Yingwo Stockade. Sitting on the boat, looking around, thousands of mountains rise in green; looking down into the water, reflections move slowly. The green water reflects the green peaks, and the peach-blossom faces are mirrored red in the water. It is truly extremely quiet and extremely beautiful! The lake water filmed in the Korean drama Nine Heavens Cave is Baofeng Lake.
While roaming on the lake, you can also see some fine views on the island in the middle of the lake, such as 'Fairy Looking in the Mirror,' 'High Gorge and Calm Lake,' and 'Golden Toad Holding the Moon,' each with its own characteristics.
Yingwo Stockade is a scenic spot in Baofeng Park. After entering the park, climb several hundred stone steps westward. Above your head, the cracks in the stone peaks are like lines. At the entrance there are battlements of an ancient city gate, and at the end is Baofeng Ancient Temple, with flourishing incense. A stone path on the cliff goes straight up to the peak. It is said that in the old society a bandit leader like an eagle occupied the small stockade at the top of the mountain. Yixiantian is a great wonder of Baofeng Park. The gorge is more than 200 meters long, more than 100 meters high, and less than two meters wide on average. There is a small stream in it, and beside the stream stone steps spiral upward, incomparably quiet and secluded, endlessly winding and profound. This tour route also has a series of scenic spots. The famous Yingwo Stockade is located on a precipice southwest of Baofeng Lake. In early years it was a famous bandit stockade, and the TV series Suppressing Bandits in Wulong Mountain was filmed here.
