1. Zhangjiajie Scenic Area consists of: Tianzi Mountain Nature Reserve, Zhangjiajie National Forest Park (Huangshizhai Scenic Area, Golden Whip Stream Scenic Area), and Suoxiyu Nature Reserve. The entire Zhangjiajie Scenic Area plus the Wulingyuan government is collectively called Wulingyuan District. The highlight scenic areas are Tianzi Mountain Scenic Area and Huangshizhai Scenic Area, with over a hundred attractions in total, of which Huangshizhai and Golden Whip Stream have over 70 attractions, and Tianzi Mountain has over 50. As the saying goes: 'If you don't go up Huangshizhai, your trip to Zhangjiajie is in vain.' Zhangjiajie was listed as a World Natural Heritage site and National Forest Park because of Huangshizhai. Huangshizhai is really a must-visit, otherwise you truly will have wasted your trip to Zhangjiajie.

6. Banks: Currently the most usable card in Zhangjiajie is probably the ICBC Peony Card. Other usable bank cards include the CCB Dragon Card, Postal Savings Card, and Bank of China Great Wall Card, etc.; Bank of China can freely exchange foreign currency for RMB.
7. Internet cafes: Apart from a few four-star hotels like Xianglong International Hotel, most hotels and guesthouses currently do not have dedicated internet cafe rooms. There are over 300 private internet cafes in the city offering internet services.
8. Rafting: When rafting, be sure to bring some money with you, but not too much—about 50 RMB is enough. It's best to bring a raincoat, and use the restroom before boarding. Cameras and portable music players are best left behind, as they can easily get wet.
9. Equipment: The less luggage the better, because your accommodation in the mountains changes daily and you'll have to carry your bag as you travel. It's best to bring an umbrella or buy a disposable raincoat locally for a few RMB each. 10. You can bargain wherever you pay, especially for meals, accommodation, and chartered cars—generally you can get down to 70-80% of the original price.
11. Most attraction ticket offices can store luggage for 2 RMB, and it generally won't be lost.
