Afternoon: After lunch (Tujia Sanxiaguo Cured Meat Banquet to taste local specialty 【Sanxiaguo】: It is Zhangjiajie's signature dish and was ranked first among the "Hometown Dishes of 14 Cities in Hunan" in 2009. It is said that during the Jiajing period of the Ming Dynasty, the court conscripted Tusi soldiers from western Hunan and Hubei to fight against Japanese pirates. It happened to be the New Year, and to not delay military affairs, the Tusi King ordered an early New Year celebration one day ahead, so cured meat, tofu, and radish were cooked in one pot, called eating "He Cai", which later evolved into "Sanxiaguo".) Then take the scenic eco-bus to 【Tianzi Mountain Scenic Area】, about 40 minutes. Then, depending on your energy, explore Zhangjiajie National Forest Geological Park, known for its fantastic peaks, secluded valleys, and lush forests. Visit [Huangshizhai] (cable car at your own expense 65 RMB/person, tour time no less than 1 hour). Afternoon: After lunch (around 12:00), drive to Zhangjiajie city. [Special note: Due to the 2-year road closure and repair from the forest park to the city, all tourist vehicles are not allowed to pass, so we will take a shuttle bus from the forest park to the city. Please understand.] Visit the national key cultural relic protection unit and the holy land in the hearts of Tujia people -- [Tujia Folk Custom Park] (complimentary item, visit if time permits, no refund if not visited).
