Day 1: Pick up the group, one-day tour of Tianmen Mountain, then go to Fenghuang Ancient Town in the afternoon
Morning: The guide picks up the group at Changsha Railway Station, then takes the Changzhang Expressway for about 4 hours to Zhangjiajie.
Afternoon: Arrive in Zhangjiajie city, then take a bus to the lower station of Tianmen Mountain cableway and visit Tianmen Mountain National Forest Park. Tianmen Mountain has a profound cultural heritage, known as the "Soul of Wuling" and the "First Sacred Mountain of Xiangxi." It combines peaks, rocks, springs, streams, clouds, and forests, and integrates majesty, wonder, beauty, danger, and tranquility, and is praised as an aerial primitive garden. We take the Tianmen Mountain cableway to visit Tianmen Mountain: see Tianmen Cave, the 99-bend road wonder (Tongtian Avenue), Li Na Villa, Ghost Valley Plank Road, Ghost Valley Military Formation, Yunmeng Fairy Top, Tianmen Mountain Temple, Lingquan Courtyard, Wood and Stone Love, and other famous attractions.
Tianmen Cableway: The cableway line has an inclined length of 7,455 meters, with a horizontal height difference of 1,279 meters between the upper and lower stations. It is the world's longest circular detachable grip cabin-type cableway, like a rainbow flying between "the human world" and "heaven," like a giant dragon soaring in the sky, rising straight up, magnificent and spectacular, becoming one of the "Four Wonders" of Tianmen Mountain.
Tongtian Avenue: The winding mountain road known as Tongtian Avenue has a total of 99 bends, like a jade belt winding around, with bends closely connected, layered, leaning against the mountain and cliffs, soaring into the clouds. The "World's No. 1 Road Wonder" has emerged, and from the cableway, the road looks like a dense spider web, with a vertical height difference of about 1,000 meters.
Tianmen Cave Opening: 131.5 meters high and more than 50 meters wide, opening north-south on the thousand-fathom plain cliff, majestic and towering, it is a rare high-altitude mountain-piercing cave and a world wonder that fully displays the magic of creation. In 2006, the Russian Air Force's aerobatic performance at Tianmen Mountain increased the mystery of Tianmen Cave and once again made it a global focus.
Ghost Valley Plank Road: Under your feet is the boundless green field, flocks of birds play in the canyon, occasionally an eagle passes by. Close your eyes, with numb legs and a rapid heartbeat, open your arms, and you can get the most perfect, exciting, and nature-close SPA. Because you should know that enjoying the scenery on a cliff is generally not something ordinary humans can enjoy.
Tianmen Mountain Temple: Tianmen Mountain Temple is a new legend of Zhangjiajie Tianmen Mountain. On June 8, 2009, the Buddha's relic was enshrined in Tianmen Temple. This Sakyamuni Buddha relic is not only the first in Hunan Province but also one of only five in China. The temple architecture is elegant and quiet, ingenious and magnificent, with a wide field of vision. Looking southeast, all mountains are small, and it truly has the spirit of one mountain dominating. It is the Buddhist center of Xiangxi.
Then take the cableway down the mountain, take the afternoon train to Jishou (in peak season, you can take a direct BUS to Fenghuang), and arrive at Fenghuang Ancient Town.

Morning: Go to Fenghuang Ancient Town to visit the former residence of the great writer Shen Congwen, the former residence of Xiong Xiling, the first cabinet premier of the Republic of China, the Yang Family Ancestral Hall, one of the twenty-four ancestral halls, the ancient East Gate Tower, the North Gate Jumping Rocks where thousands of troops passed, take a leisurely wooden boat to enjoy the intoxicating scenery of the Tuo River, the stilted house groups with red lanterns hanging high, Hongqiao, and the Duocui Tower hidden in the green mountains and waters—Huang Yongyu's studio. Standing by the river is the Wanming Tower. Walking on the ancient and long bluestone street, you will see various silverware, mouth-watering snacks, unknown local specialties, and the amazing paper-cutting of Miao old ladies.
The attractions included in the 148 RMB ticket for Fenghuang Ancient Town are: Shen Congwen's Former Residence, Yang Family Ancestral Hall, East Gate Tower, Xiong Xiling's Former Residence, Tuo River Boating, Hongqiao Art Building, Wanshou Palace, Chongde Hall, Ancient Town Museum.
Afternoon: Return to Jishou Railway Station and send off the group.
