Morning:
Your guide or driver will meet you at the airport, train station, or hotel with a name sign, then take you by air-conditioned tour bus (enjoying 40 minutes of Xiangxi countryside scenery along the way) and enter the scenic area directly from the Forest Park ticket gate (the ￥248 ticket is included). Hike through the "most beautiful canyon in the world" — Golden Whip Stream Scenic Area (including sights such as Guanyin Presenting a Child, Pig Bajie Carrying His Bride, Divine Eagle Guarding the Whip, Cleaving the Mountain to Save the Mother, the filming location of Journey to the West, Longevity Spring, and Meeting After a Thousand Miles). After finishing Golden Whip Stream, there are two ways to go up to Yuanjiajie Scenic Area at the mountaintop (Option 1: hike up from Meeting After a Thousand Miles at Golden Whip Stream via Luancuan Slope to Yuanjiajie; Option 2: at your own expense of ￥180 per person (including the one-way Bailong Elevator ride and the mountaintop Tujia village — Yuanjia Village ticket), take the shuttle bus from Shuiraosimen to the lower station of the Bailong Elevator, then ride the world's No. 1 outdoor elevator up to Yuanjiajie at the mountaintop.

After lunch, visit the core of the World Natural Heritage site — Yuanjiajie Scenic Area (including the "Qiankun Pillar," the prototype of the "Hallelujah Mountain" in the movie Avatar, the No. 1 Bridge Under Heaven, Jiutian Xuanti, Qiankun Pillar, Lianxin Bridge, China-Korea Friendship Pavilion, Divine Turtle Asking Heaven, Mihun Terrace, and other sights). Yuanjiajie is one of the most peculiar and spectacular mountaintop viewing areas in Zhangjiajie National Forest Park, surpassing Huangshizhai and Tianzi Mountain... Afterward, take about a 20-minute shuttle bus to the Daguantai accommodation area.

Visit Yangjiajie Scenic Area, the most beautiful place in Zhangjiajie Scenic Area (including sights such as Tianbo Mansion, One Step to Heaven, Sky Corridor, Three Ghost Passes, Yang Family Heroines, Echo Wall, Lovers Peak, Five Finger Mountain, Tianbo Mansion, and Wulang Worshipping Buddha), and Wulong Village, the most famous bandit lair in greater Xiangxi. Because the mountain terrain where the stronghold was located was so treacherous, when night fell it looked like a black dragon coiled on the ridge, hence the name! The scenery of Yangjiajie, like Zhangjiajie, is mainly pristine natural beauty. Compared with Zhangjiajie, Tianzi Mountain, and Suoxiyu, besides sharing basically the same geology, landforms, and some peaks, it also has its own unique features — not quite like Zhangjiajie, yet even better than Zhangjiajie. It is an excellent scenic area that regular tour groups do not have time to visit...
Afternoon:
Visit Daguantai Scenic Area (Tianzi Seat, Immortal Bridge, Divine Chicken Pecking, One Step Hard to Walk), and view the panorama of Ten-Mile Gallery from afar. Among the sights in Daguantai Scenic Area, Immortal Bridge is the most breathtaking! A stone bridge about 1.5 meters wide and more than 10 meters long spans two sheer cliffs thousands of feet high; below the bridge, clouds and mist swirl, and the bottom is unfathomable! Occasionally strange sounds of birds and beasts rise from the valley floor, adding a touch of mystery to Immortal Bridge Scenic Area. In the evening, enjoy the sunset and brilliant rosy clouds over Tianzi Mountain in Zhangjiajie.

There are many sights to visit today. Because mountain-type scenic areas mostly involve walking, sightseeing can be tiring, and there are few places to buy things in the scenic area, so it is recommended to bring some snacks or drinking water to replenish energy and hydration.

Read the legends of Tianzi Mountain
Morning:
Visit Tianzi Mountain Scenic Area (Fairy Maiden Scattering Flowers, Imperial Brush Peak, Tianzi Pavilion, Cloud Rock, and other scenic spots), known as "an enlarged potted landscape, a reduced fairyland" and crowned the king of peak forests; Helong Park; and the bronze statue of He Long, one of the ten marshals. Afterwards, head down the mountain to visit scenic areas below. (There are two ways down: first, hike down via Wolong Ridge to the Ten-Mile Gallery Scenic Area at the foot of the mountain. Second, take the Tianzi Mountain Cableway down from the upper station at your own expense for 52 yuan/person, then take the scenic area shuttle bus to Wulingyuan Gate.)
Afternoon:
Take a tour bus for about 50 minutes back to the city, passing through Baizhang Gorge, the "ancient battlefield of a thousand years", to exit the scenic area: the gorge gets its name because it has stone cliffs nearly a hundred zhang high piercing the sky, too tall to look up at. Return to Zhangjiajie city; if the weather is clear, you can also view from the bus the majestic Tianmen Mountain and Tianmen Cave, the "soul of Wuling". In the afternoon, visit a local daily-life supermarket so guests can replenish travel supplies and choose local specialties. Around 14:30, arrive in the city and check into the hotel.

The uncanny Tianmen Mountain, Tianmen Cave, and temples in the sky
Full Day:
Take a bus to the lower station of the Tianmen Mountain Cableway and visit Tianmen Mountain National Forest Park (ticket and cableway ticket 258 yuan included). Tianmen Mountain has a profound cultural heritage, is known as the "soul of Wuling", and also enjoys the reputation of the number one sacred mountain of Xiangxi. It combines peaks, rocks, springs, streams, clouds, and forests, and gathers majesty, wonder, beauty, steepness, and seclusion, and is praised as an aerial primeval garden. We will take the Tianmen Mountain Cableway to visit Tianmen Mountain: see Tianmen Cave, the 99-bend road wonder (Tongtian Avenue), Li Na Villa, Guigu Plank Road, Guigu Military Formation, Yunmeng Fairy Summit, Tianmen Mountain Temple, Lingquan Courtyard, Wood and Stone Love, and other famous scenic spots.
Tianmen Cableway: The cableway has an inclined length of 7,455 meters and a horizontal height difference of 1,279 meters between the upper and lower stations. It is the world's longest single-line circulating detachable grip cabin-type cableway, like a rainbow flying between the "human world" and "heaven", and also like a giant dragon soaring in the cloudy sky, clinging to the mountain and cliffs, rising straight up, stirring the heart and magnificent, becoming one of the "Four Wonders" of Tianmen Mountain Scenic Area.
Tongtian Avenue: The winding mountain road known as Tongtian Avenue has a total of 99 bends, like a jade belt winding around, bend after bend closely connected, layered upward, clinging to the mountain and cliffs, rushing straight into the clouds. The "Number One Road Wonder under Heaven" emerges, and viewed from the cableway, the road is as dense as a spider web, with a vertical height difference of about one thousand meters.
Tianmen Cave Opening: Climb 999 steps to Tianmen Cave and pray for blessings. It is 131.5 meters high and more than 50 meters wide, opening north-south on a vast white cliff. It is majestic and towering, a rare high-altitude karst cave through the mountain, and even more a world-class wonder fully displaying the magic of creation. The 2006 Russian Air Force aerobatic performance at Tianmen Mountain in Zhangjiajie heightened the mystery of Tianmen Cave and once again made it a global focus.
Guigu Plank Road: Beneath your feet is boundless green wilderness, flocks of small birds play in the gorge, and occasionally an eagle sweeps past your eyes. Close your eyes, with numb legs and a racing heartbeat, spread your arms, and you can receive the most perfect, exciting, and nature-close SPA. After all, you should know that enjoying scenery on a cliff is generally not something ordinary humans can experience.

Full Day:
After breakfast, take a private car to the "Number One Drift under Heaven" -- Mengdong River Rafting (tickets included). Departing from "Hani Palace", you'll drift downstream in a small boat through the high mountain gorges of the primitive secondary forest. Wearing life jackets, riding rubber rafts, braving rapids, battling rushing currents, enjoying the scenery along the way, bathing in waterfalls, having water fights, and passing through gorge passes, you'll bob between the crests of waves and the bottom of valleys. Along the way, you'll pass Triangle Rock, Chicken Coop Gate, Nitu Waterfall, Yama Rapids, LuoshuiKeng Waterfall, Mengsi Gorge... dozens of scenic spots come one after another, too beautiful to take in all at once. You can sing loudly, battle the waves through rapids, or play in the water, rediscovering the self you lost long ago. The entire rafting trip is over 20 kilometers and lasts four hours! Afterwards, you may visit the thousand-year-old ancient town -- Furong Town (Wangcun) at your own expense: the ancient town's stone-slab street, chastity archway, Wangcun Waterfall, and taste Liu Xiaoqing's rice tofu.

Along the way, enjoy the scenery of Xiangxi and experience the customs of ethnic minorities. At night, view the night scenery of the Tuo River.
