Morning pick-up, visit Shaoshan Mao Zedong's Former Residence, drive to Zhangjiajie
Full day:
Meet in Changsha at around 08:00 at the railway station square. Depart at around 8:30. View the Xiang River—Changsha's mother river. It surges from the south and flows northward. On both banks of the Xiang River, red cliffs are like rosy clouds, white sand like snow, weeping willows like silk, and masts and sails like clouds, forming the beautiful Changsha riverside scenery belt. Then visit one of the Eight Views of Xiaoxiang—[Orange Isle]; "Alone in the cold autumn, at the head of Orange Isle, I see thousands of hills all red, layers of woods dyed through; the whole river green and clear, hundreds of boats contending..." (about 120 minutes). Then drive to the place where the red sun rises—[Shaoshan] (about 90 minutes). Visit Shaoshan's most legendary [Mao Zedong Bronze Statue Square], [Comrade Mao Zedong's Former Residence], [Memorial Hall] (tour about 120 minutes). Bus to Zhangjiajie (about 240 minutes). On the way, view the beautiful scenery of the three Xiang and four rivers. You may optionally watch the world karst cave wonder Dragon King Cave for 120 yuan/person (because it was developed late and has less pollution, it better reflects the beauty of cave stalagmites and stalactites).

One-Day Tour of "King of World Peak Forests" Tianzi Mountain Scenic Area and Ten-Mile Gallery Scenic Area
Full Day:
After breakfast, visit the "King of Peak Forests" Tianzi Mountain Scenic Area, where "every three steps offer a small view, every five steps a grand view, every ten steps a new heaven, and every step a wonder": Helong Park, West Sea Stone Forest, Imperial Brush Peak, Fairy Presenting Flowers, Tianzi Pavilion, and other attractions... (about 3 hours by cable car round trip; about 6 hours if walking both ways). Afterwards, optionally visit the remaining Tujia village of the bandits' lair (110 RMB/person), and see the filming location of "Avatar" — "Hallelujah Mountain," also known as "South Heaven Pillar" (also called Qiankun Pillar) — and explore the mystical world of floating mountains and scattered peaks from Avatar; visit the mist-shrouded, layered peaks, then the majestic Mihun Terrace, the No. 1 Bridge under Heaven, and other sky-high wonders. Tour the Ten-Mile Gallery Scenic Area (about 1 hour): Three Sisters Peak, Herb-Gathering Old Man, Index Finger Peak, and other attractions... Along the way, you can see Mother and Child Peak, Pig Bajie Carrying His Wife, Golden Whip Rock, the filming location of Journey to the West — Master and Disciples Seeking Scriptures, Cleaving the Mountain to Save the Mother, and other attractions. Then climb Huangshizhai Scenic Area, known as the "sky gallery" and Zhangjiajie's largest cliff-top viewing platform.
