Miao King City Miao Village half-day tour, afternoon group send-off
Morning:
About 50 minutes by coach to Miao King City, where Miao kings of dozens of generations lived during the Ming and Qing dynasties (tickets included; tour no less than 2 hours). Miao uprisings broke out here many times and it served as their base, prompting the Ming government to build the Southern Great Wall! The ancient Miao history, mysterious Miao religion, distinctive Miao customs, gorgeous Miao costumes, and exquisite Miao handicrafts are all fully displayed here.
Miao King City is China's hometown of Miao songs, hometown of Miao drums, hometown of folk acrobatics, a film and television shooting base for Miao King City in western China, one of Guizhou's top ten charming scenic areas, and an outstanding scenic area in Tongren Prefecture.
1. Enter · Miao King City: The first thing upon entering Miao King City Scenic Area is the majestic Chinese Miao King City archway. The scenic road is about 4 kilometers, where you can see Miao King Tea Garden and Miao King City Ecological Agriculture Sightseeing Spot. After getting off at the large parking lot, verify your ticket at the main entrance and enter the scenic area. Walk along Yinglong Avenue to the Miao King Castle Tower, where you'll be greeted with Miao gate-blocking wine, gate-blocking songs, and gate-blocking drums, fully demonstrating the Miao people's hospitality.
2. See · Yinglong Square: Passing through the Miao King Castle Tower, you enter Yinglong Square, where the Miao people hold large events. Here you'll find the "Mother Tree" planted by Miao King Long Xibo, the Divine Judgment Platform for settling disputes through the gods, the small mountain god altar for blessing peace, the divine pillar commemorating Masang Shooting the Sun, the Miao Embroidery Building showcasing Miao embroidery techniques, and the Hundred Miao Corridor currently applying for a Guinness World Record. The wood carvings in the corridor, "Hundred Miao Picture" and "Miao Migration Picture," reflect Miao history and images.
3. Walk · Ancient Village Military Alleys: Inside the ancient village of Miao King City, there are eleven alleys and eleven village gates, as well as "right-angle alleys" specially designed to confuse enemies. Many battles were fought in these military alleys in ancient times; you can almost hear the shouts of combat. The various dwellings in the village can be called a museum of Miao architecture. TV series such as "Soldier," "Border Town Man," "Saving Female Soldier Situ Hui," "Tell Me You Love Me," "Wind and Rain Fanjingshan," "Where Are the Heroes," and CCTV programs "Village Divine Banner," "Secret Nuo Skills," "Happy China Tour - Miao King City," and "Traveling All Over China - Miao King City" were filmed in these dwellings and alleys.
4. Climb · Point-General Platform: Follow the weathered old village wall to the steep and majestic Point-General Platform, where you'll feel the extraordinary martial aura of the Miao King. Here you can see the amazing natural bridge and the magical Taiji Landscape Diagram.
5. View · Miao King's Former Residence: In the former residence of Miao King Wu Heimiao, who resisted 180,000 Ming troops, there is a cattle-sacrifice divine pillar symbolizing power and wealth, and beautifully carved stepping stones symbolizing happiness and good fortune.
6. Cross · Wind and Rain Bridge: Accompanied by the Miao girls' mountain songs and the melodious sound of wooden leaves, cross the Miao Wind and Rain Bridge. This is where Miao young men and women go to "edge markets," where love is born and expressed, and where hearts beat faster!
7. Sit · Boat on Miao King River: Boating on the Miao King River, enjoy the beautiful landscape on both sides of Miao King Canyon—it's refreshing and feels like a paradise.
8. Step · Flowing Waterfall: After disembarking, you'll find the touching spot of Miao King City's landscape—the Flowing Waterfall. Visitors love to take photos and play in the water here.
9. Admire · Stilted House Complex: On the swaying suspension bridge, you'll feel integrated with the stone peaks and cliffs and the stilted houses on both banks. The stilted house complex built on the cliffs, layer upon layer, is one of China's most distinctive stilted house complexes. It consists of five stilted houses combined and embedded in the cliffs, very spectacular, fully embodying the essence of Miao architecture.
10. Watch · Folk Performance: At the courtyard of Miao King City's Miao King Restaurant, the Miao King City's Daigou and Daipa will present Miao customs, songs and dances, and Miao acrobatics, interacting with you and bringing you relaxed happiness.
11. Taste · Miao Meal: Be a guest at a Miao home and taste authentic Miao cuisine—free-range chicken, sour dishes, rice wine, farm dishes... Your appetite will be greatly stimulated and you'll be full of energy.
Afternoon:
Return: 1 hour by coach to Jishou Railway Station to see off the group, or 4.5 hours back to Zhangjiajie to see off the group, ending the pleasant Xiangxi journey! (Arrival in Zhangjiajie city at about 18:00)
