Yuanjiajie Scenic Area — Xiaodongtian (Small Cave Heaven)

About 80 meters west of Baixian Terrace is a tiny viewing platform formed by a natural boulder, with a railed area of less than 3 square meters. Looking down, you see a barrel-shaped valley about 40 meters in diameter and over 300 meters deep. To the south, a 20-meter-wide cave entrance is hidden by a neighboring peak, with only a vertical slit letting in light, making it dark and eerie by day. Beyond the barrel, countless peaks and valleys stretch out. To the northwest, a nearly 300-meter-long, 20-meter-wide formation descends from top to bottom.

More than 80 meters west of Baixiantai, there is a miniature viewing platform formed by a natural giant rock, with the railing-enclosed surface less than 3 square meters. Leaning on the railing and looking down, one sees a barrel-shaped secluded valley about 40 meters in diameter and more than 300 meters deep. Due south, a cave opening more than 20 meters wide is concealed by a neighboring giant peak, with only a vertical crack on both sides letting in light, making it dim and terrifying even in daytime. Beyond the barrel-shaped valley, thousands of peaks and ravines stretch into the distance, presenting a myriad of scenes. On its northwest side, from top to bottom, there is a stone trough nearly 300 meters long and 20 meters wide; along its upper edge, several small springs seep out and fall in succession, forming mist in the middle, creating a magnificent spectacle. Legend has it that the Eight Immortals once cultivated themselves here and often drank this water, thereby becoming immortals.
