Zhangjiajie Double Gorge One-Line Sky

The "Double Gorge One-Line Sky" landscape is located two kilometers south of Yongding District, adjacent to the South Railway Station and the east side of the cement plant, also known as "Lower Gorge Cave." The "Double Gorge One-Line Sky" landscape is located two kilometers south of Yongding District, adjacent to the south railway station and the east side of the cement plant, also known as "Xiaxia Cave." The stone cliffs are as if sliced, with two mountains pressing together. Above, ancient vines hang upside down; below, a murmuring stream flows. Passersby must step on stone treads and cross a small bridge to proceed. Inside the cave, both sides are sheer cliffs, and both ends are passable. It was formerly the only passage up to Tianmen Mountain. Inside the cave, for a stretch of one or two li, no sky can be seen; year-round it is closed in like yin and yang, and speech echoes with a hollow booming sound. When midsummer arrives, the cave sends forth cool breezes, making it a fine place for people to escape the heat and spend the summer. A visit here in midsummer is like entering a fairyland on earth, with the feeling of a blessed cave-heaven.
