The Zhangjiajie Tianmen Mountain elevator project is located on the west side of Tianmen Cave on Tianmen Mountain in Zhangjiajie City. The cave entrance building is located at the southwest corner of the Tongtian Avenue parking lot. The upper station building of the elevator is located beside the main tourist path from the Tianmen Mountain summit cableway upper station to the top of Tianmen Cave, adjacent to the Bonsai Stone scenic spot to the west and near the Tianmen Fanshui and North Overlook Tianmen scenic spots to the east. The elevation of the pedestrian tunnel entrance at the lower station is 1,050 m, the tunnel length is 159.6 m, the elevator shaft height is 357.6 m, and the net cross-sectional area of the shaft is 68.75 m². During the construction of the elevator project, the stone materials excavated from the pedestrian tunnel and elevator shaft works will be used to backfill the hillside on the north side of the parking lot to expand the parking lot area. The total building area of the project is 1,139 m², the building area of the elevator shaft upper station building is 934 m² (covering an area of 870 m²), and the building area of the pedestrian tunnel entrance is 205 m². The elevator type adopts a single-deck low-speed scheme, using 4 single-deck double-door elevator cars, with every two forming a pair that can rescue each other. The elevator equipment will be installed in two phases: the first phase involves installing two elevators with a total transport capacity of 1,120 p/h; when the combined transport capacity of the cableway and the first-phase two elevators cannot meet tourism development needs, two more elevators will be installed, increasing the total elevator transport capacity to 2,240 p/h. The total construction investment of this project is 129.2938 million yuan, with environmental protection investment of 5.1802 million yuan, accounting for approximately 4% of the project investment.
