Dozens of sheer cliffs intertwine and scatter in uneven disorder, creating a solemn and stirring scene like broken walls and ruined fortifications, making people sigh involuntarily at the power of nature and the changes of the world. Legend says this is the site of the Yang family's “Tianbo Mansion.” According to research by Zhou Zhengsong, associate professor in the History Department of Shanxi University, the scenic area name Yangjiajie (as well as the previously mentioned “Tianbo Mansion,” “Zongbao Peak,” “Liulang Bay,” and others) were all named to commemorate the Yang family generals. The Yang clan living in Yangjiajie were originally descendants of the historical Yang family generals, who came from north to south, from Jiangxi to Hunan, to western Hunan, and after generations of evolution, migration, and long journeys.

Legend says that when the Yang family generals of the Northern Song Dynasty suppressed Xiang Wang Tianzi, they once set up camp at Tianzi Mountain. Later, because the war dragged on for a long time, the Yang family multiplied here and made this place “Yangjiajie.” Today, Yangjiajie still preserves the Yang Clan Genealogy and Yang family ancestral tombs from the Ming and Qing dynasties, as well as place names such as “Liulang Bay,” “Qilang Bay,” “Zongbao Bay,” and “Tianbo Mansion.” Tianbo Mansion is located in the Yangjiajie Scenic Area.
