Sangzhi Martyrs' Park is located at Zhujiatai by the Lishui River, west of the county seat. It was built in 1953 to commemorate local workers who gloriously sacrificed their lives during the Second Revolutionary Civil War and the War of Liberation. Inside the park stands a white marble monument, 22 meters high and 1.5 meters square. The tower body is divided into two main tiers: the main tier is 18 meters high, with the seven characters 'Revolutionary Martyrs Memorial Tower' carved on the front, each character one chi square, and the eight characters 'Revolutionary Martyrs Are Immortal' engraved on the back. At the top of the tower stands a statue of a Red Army soldier holding high a red flag and gripping a broadsword in a charging pose. The middle section is octagonal equilateral patterned bluestone. The lower tier is 2 meters high, inscribed with the names of more than 2,000 martyrs. The tower base is 16 square meters, with a terrazzo platform of 200 square meters, surrounded by a half-height stone wall. On both sides of the tower are two hexagonal memorial pavilions with flying eaves and upturned corners, beautifully shaped. The park covers more than 8,000 square meters, with three Ming Dynasty catalpa trees and flower beds and ponds interspersed throughout. Throughout the year, the park is full of blooming flowers and lush greenery. During festivals and holidays, it attracts many visitors who come to pay their respects.
