The former site and memorial hall of the CPC Hunan-Hubei-Sichuan-Guizhou Provincial Committee, Provincial Revolutionary Committee, Provincial Military District, and the Red Second Front Army Command are located at No. 41 Jiefang Road in the heart of Zhangjiajie. It is a courtyard with a four-sided well layout, bordered by the Xianglong International Hotel to the east, the Yongding District Radio and Television Bureau to the south, the Central Vegetable Market to the west, and Jiefang Road street to the north. Covering an area of over 3,000 square meters, the courtyard features lush evergreen trees, ever-blooming flowers, and clean stone slabs, creating a fresh, pleasant, tranquil, and solemn atmosphere. The former site has a building area of 860 square meters, built in 1918 with a brick-and-wood structure and a classical Chinese-Western architectural style. At the east end, three low walls enclose a wooden house, forming a courtyard within a courtyard. The three small rooms served as the office and bedroom of Red Second Front Army leaders Ren Bishi, He Long, and Xiao Ke. The oil lamp on the black-lacquered desk bears witness that these heroes, who once struck fear into the enemy, strategized here through the night. At the west end is the Provincial Committee auditorium, where the enlarged Provincial Committee meetings and meetings of various provincial departments were held. It now displays portraits of 166 generals and marshals of the Red Second Front Army, standing on all four walls and inspiring deep respect. To the north were the directly affiliated departments of the Red Second Front Army Command, the Provincial Revolutionary Committee, and the Provincial Military District—the red command headquarters that handled myriad affairs and secured victories from afar, vigorously directing the revolutionary struggle in the base area. To the south is the Provincial Committee office building, rebuilt as an exhibition hall in its original style during the restoration of the former site, with a building area of 760 square meters. It displays over 300 historical photographs and more than 100 revolutionary artifacts, recreating that arduous and extraordinary history of revolutionary struggle. In addition, the site also housed the Provincial Party School, the Red Army School, a hospital, a wireless radio station, a guard company, and other institutions.
General Xiao Ke, Deputy Commander of the Red Second Front Army, personally inscribed the name of the memorial hall: "Memorial Hall of the CPC Hunan-Hubei-Sichuan-Guizhou Provincial Committee, Provincial Revolutionary Committee, and Provincial Military District." In January 1996, the hall was designated by the Hunan Provincial People's Government as a "Key Cultural Relic Protection Unit of Hunan Province." In June 2001, it was designated by the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee as a "National Patriotism Education Demonstration Base." It is also a patriotism education base for the province and city, an ideological and moral education base for youth, and a national defense education base. It has now entered the application process for "National Key Cultural Relic Protection Unit" status.
The former site of the CPC Hunan-Hubei-Sichuan-Guizhou Provincial Committee, Provincial Revolutionary Committee, Provincial Military District, and the Red Second Front Army Command, along with the Hunan-Hubei-Sichuan-Guizhou Revolutionary Base Memorial Hall, is located at the tourist distribution center of Zhangjiajie. It is 30 kilometers from the World Natural Heritage site of Wulingyuan, 5 kilometers from the world's longest cableway at Tianmen Mountain National Forest Park, and only a 10-minute drive from Zhangjiajie Airport and Railway Station. The routes are seamlessly connected, making it the intersection of several national-level premium tour routes. It has become a distinctive red classic among many premium tour routes, effectively integrating green natural resources, historical and cultural resources, and tourist resources. It has now also been included in the 30 national premium red tourism routes.
