Ciyantang is located in the eastern part of the county, only 35 kilometers from the county seat, adjacent to Sangzhi County. It was once the seat of the Hunan-Hubei-Chongqing-Guizhou Soviet Government. This place has produced outstanding people and is a red fertile land, a cradle of revolution. Older-generation proletarian revolutionaries such as He Long, Ren Bishi, Guan Xiangying, Xiao Ke, and Wang Zhen once fought bloody battles here.
