The Mala River in Yongshun County is located within Yangfeng Township, Yongshun County, in beautiful Xiangxi. It is a river valley shaped by flowing water in a limestone region. Just a few years ago it was little known, but after being discovered by outdoor sports enthusiasts, it has risen to fame in recent years. After investigation, geological experts pointed out that the unique deep mountain gorge landform here was formed by limestone being washed and dissolved by water during crustal uplift and subsidence movements, and it contains a large number of potholes, which are rare in gorge landforms. The cliffs on both banks of the river channel are steep, with rugged and beautiful rocks; the river water is clear, with countless pools of deep blue of various sizes. The Mala River is renowned for its large drop, cascading waterfalls on both banks, and steep gorges, and has been praised by outdoor travelers as the "Jiuzhaigou of Xiangxi." The Mala River has been hailed by outdoor enthusiasts as the first five-star outdoor route in Xiangxi. Throughout the journey, the most enchanting spot is Chujiang Haizi, praised as "a jade fallen to the mortal world." Because the water of the Mala River mostly comes from underground dark river karst caves, the water is rich in dissolved minerals, presenting a Jiuzhaigou-like blue with rich layers and purity like jade. Waterfalls are like curtains, and the water passes through a natural water cave. Once out of the cave entrance, there is a tranquil beauty like a paradise: "Chujiang Haizi."
