Located in Hudong Village, Heping Township, now the site of Hudong Primary School. According to the 'Qingquan County Gazetteer: Construction Records': 'Hudong Temple is ten li east of the city, east of Linghu Lake. In the early Dali period of the Tang Dynasty, Zen Master Fazhao established a Five Assembly Buddha-Recitation Platform here, with over a thousand resident monks.' At the end of the Yuan and beginning of the Ming Dynasty, the temple was twice destroyed by war and twice restored. By the Shunzhi period of the Qing Dynasty, there were still 4 rows of halls and 30 monk rooms. Now only 10 stone pillars and 2 stone-carved couplets remain in the Hudong Primary School grounds. One couplet reads: 'Model for the southern state, already toward Xiongxiang...'

  It is located within Hudong Village of Heping Township, and is now the site of Hudong Primary School. In the early Dali era of the Tang Dynasty, Chan Master Fazhao settled here and established the Five Assemblies Buddha-Recitation Platform, with over a thousand resident monks." At the end of the Yuan and beginning of the Ming Dynasty, this temple was twice destroyed by war and twice restored. By the Shunzhi era of the Qing Dynasty, it still had four sections of halls and thirty monks' quarters. Now within the grounds of Hudong Primary School only ten stone pillars remain, along with two sets of stone-carved couplets. One reads: "A model for the southern state, it has already left its mark at Xiongxiang; only this eastern land once crossed the river from the Wild Goose Temple." There also remains one century-old ancient cypress and the ruins of an old opera stage.
