Shennong Square

Covering 48,000 square meters, Shennong Square is a park-style plaza focused on greenery, highlighting the ancient Jiangnan pastoral scenery of dense woods, tall bamboo, and small bridges over flowing water. The fan-shaped square centers on a statue of Shennong inventing the plow. With two horns on his head, facing southwest, holding a plow in his left hand, and barefoot on the vast land, the statue stands 9.5 meters tall, symbolizing Shennong's supreme status in the Chinese nation. The sides are carved with the 'rice, millet, broomcorn, wheat' said to have been discovered by Shennong.

Shennong Square covers an area of 48,000 square meters. It is mainly landscaped with greenery, striving to highlight the pastoral scenery of ancient Jiangnan with dense forests, tall bamboo, small bridges, and flowing water. It is a typical park-style square.

The square is laid out in a fan shape, with the main statue of Shennong Creating the Plow at the center. Shennong has two horns on his head, faces southwest, holds a plow in his left hand, and walks barefoot on the vast earth. The statue is 9.5 meters tall, meaning that Shennong is the supreme honor of the Chinese nation. On the side are carved textual patterns of the five grains said to have been discovered by Shennong: rice, millet, broomcorn millet, wheat, and beans.

Around the statue is a small circular plaza paved with marble, surrounded by 8 ancient farming tools with the 'lei' radical, such as the lei, si, and harrow. Within the plaza, a winding stream meanders from north to south, turning west, with willow catkins drifting along the banks and lotus blossoms blooming on the water. Small bridges span the stream, connected by zigzag bridges, creating a scene of lively charm. As night falls, accompanied by beautiful melodies, colorful fountains display their grandeur, and neon lights shine in mutual brilliance, presenting a magnificent spectacle.
