Caizi Pond

Caizi Pond

Located in the southern urban area, Caizi Pond is said to be where Cai Lun soaked and washed hemp, rags, and tree bark during papermaking in the Eastern Han Dynasty. The pond covers about 200,000 square meters, lined with stone slabs, with a stone bridge running east-west through the center, dividing it into north and south ponds. On clear moonlit nights, strolling on the bridge or lingering by the stone pavilion, one can see moon reflections in both ponds, earning the famous praise 'Twin moons over Caizi Pond.' To the south are the Cai Hou Temple and Baoding. It has now been developed into the Cai Lun Memorial Park, integrating cultural relics, historical sites, and entertainment.

Caizichi is located in the southern urban area. Legend has it that it was the pool where Cai Lun soaked and washed hemp heads, rags, and tree bark during papermaking in the Eastern Han dynasty. The pool covers about 200,000 mu and is lined with hemp stone. A stone bridge runs east-west through the center of the pool, dividing it into two pools, north and south. On clear moonlit nights, strolling on the stone bridge and lingering by the stone pavilion, one can see moon reflections in both the north and south pools, hence the famous saying 'The beauty of twin moons on Caizichi.' South of the pool are the Cai Hou Temple and the precious tripod. It has now been developed into the Cai Lun Memorial Park. The park integrates cultural relics and historic sites with cultural entertainment, making it an excellent place for people's activities and relaxation, and a base for patriotic education.
