Yishan is in Shanqiao Township and was the place where Huan Yi of the Eastern Jin studied and practiced martial arts. Huan Yi was the Eastern Jin commander in the historically famous Battle of Fei River, where the weak defeated the strong. After achieving success, he retired and lived in seclusion at Yishan. The temple on the mountain is called Yishan Temple and flourished during the Ming and Qing dynasties. The temple had three successive halls and covered 5,000 square meters. The large plaque on the stone temple gate, "Jingde Chan Temple," was inscribed by Emperor Huizong of Song. Inside the temple, ancient luohan trees spread like canopies. Many poets and literati came here to reflect on the past.
