The Longxi Lake Scenic Area is located in the mountainous area of eastern Hengnan County, 45 kilometers from Hengyang City, with convenient transportation and communications in all directions.
The core scenic spots of the Longxi Lake Scenic Area are mainly composed of "one lake and four caves." "One lake" refers to Longxi Lake, with a water surface of 3,000 square meters, a storage capacity of 40 million cubic meters, and a water depth of more than 20 meters. In the lake there are several natural springs, and the water is transparent and clear, non-toxic and unpolluted. "Four caves" refers to the many natural karst caves around Longxi Lake, among which the four major caves—Baquan Cave, Chuankou Cave, Maiyuan Cave, and Sangtian Cave—have the best scenery. The caves are wondrous and the rocks beautiful; there are caves within caves, all connected. Inside the caves are hanging stalactites in a thousand forms; stepping into the caves is like being in a fairyland.
