The Martyrs' Cemetery was established in 1960 on Dougong Mountain in the county suburbs, with a total area of 195.3 mu, including 84.2 mu of land and 111.1 mu of water. At the top of the mountain stands a 22-meter-high Martyrs' Memorial Tower, with its surroundings inlaid with polished granite slabs. On the mountainside are 73 martyrs' graves, including 72 individual graves and 1 mass grave, all built of granite. The cemetery also contains the tomb of a general, with a stone statue on it of He Changgong, former Vice Chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference. The three characters 'He Changgong' on the statue's base were inscribed by Comrade Jiang Zemin. In the stone tomb below the statue are the ashes of revolutionary predecessors such as Generals Zhu Shaoqing, Fang Zhizhong, Zhang Shuzhi, and veteran cadres at or above the vice-ministerial level, including Liu Danian, Tu Guolin, and Dong Qingshan.
