Tianjingshan Forest Farm is located in the northwest of Junshan District, Yueyang City, between 29°33'–29°39' north latitude and 112°42'–112°52' east longitude. To the north it borders Zhuanqiao Township, Tashi Forest Farm, Dongshan Township, and Sanfeng Town of Huarong County; to the south it adjoins Xushi Town of Junshan.
The farm is a granite high hill rising from the ancient Dongting Lake basin, trending northeast to Xiji, lying on the boundary line between Junshan and Huarong. It is 18 kilometers long in total, with a highest elevation of 314 meters and a lowest of 70 meters, a relative height difference of 244 meters, and slopes generally of 20°–35°.
