Yinshui Mystery Palace, also known as the "6501" Scenic Area, is located at the southern foot of the towering Yaogu Mountain, 15 kilometers from the city proper. It includes the "6501" underground project, Longtan Lake, the Three-Section Brocade Waterfall, Golden Sand Beach, and surrounding cultural landscapes, making it a scenic resort that blends mountains, water, caves, and beaches into one. The "6501" underground project was built in 1965 and consists of three levels—upper, middle, and lower—interconnected vertically and horizontally, with caves linked to one another, winding and twisting, deep and unfathomable, so disorienting that one feels lost in a maze. The cave is shaped like a string of melons on a vine, threaded with 25 halls (rooms) and 17 ventilation shafts, with a total length of 17,000 meters. It is hailed as the "Number One Man-Made Cave Under Heaven" and the "Underground Great Wall of China," truly a "wonder without equal in the land." The Three-Section Brocade Waterfall lies between the main peak and the second peak of Wuzhi Mountain, cascading down a mountain ravine for over 100 meters in height, forming three main tiers of waterfalls that pour down like three lengths of silk brocade, hence the name. Golden Sand Beach, also known as Weisha Dam, covers an area of over 2,000 mu, with a depth of more than 50 meters and a sand storage of nearly 100 million cubic meters. Under the sunlight, the beach glitters with golden light, hence the name Golden Sand Beach. With the majestic bearing of a "Jiangnan Gobi," it presents itself to the world as a unique and extraordinary spectacle.
Longtan Lake has clear water with rippling blue waves, fish gliding at the bottom, and waves lapping against light boats. The lake covers over 3,000 mu, with a water storage capacity of more than 60 million cubic meters, 4 kilometers long and 1 kilometer wide. Legend has it that a dragon lurks in the lake, and its depths are unfathomable. Locally, there is a saying: "The dragon locks Longtan Temple, the dragon hides in Longtan Stone."
