In Lucheng Township, legend has it that when Lu Xun of the Three Kingdoms stationed troops at Xiajun, he built an earthen city here. In the second year of Qingtai of the Later Tang of the Five Dynasties, Ma Yin established a Wangchao Market here. In the fifth year of Chunhua of the Song Dynasty, it was established as a county seat. In the second year of Zhidao of the Song Dynasty, it was changed to the seat of Linxiang County. In the nineteenth year of the Republic of China, it was moved to Chang'an (present-day Linxiang county seat). The earthen city wall still has 100 meters remaining, about 10 meters thick and 5 meters high.
