It is located in Shuanshipo, Weidong Township, Yueyang County. The original site was an ordinary farmhouse with five bays and wings on both sides. From October 1930 to June 1931, the organ of the Xiangbei Special Committee was stationed here, leading the revolutionary struggle in the Pingjiang, Xiangyin, Linxiang and Yueyang area.
Under the leadership of Comrade Yang Qi, secretary of the Special Committee, and others, the red base area in the border region of the three counties of Yueyang, Xiangyin and Linxiang was opened up, the Xiangbei Independent Regiment of the Chinese Workers' and Peasants' Red Army was established, the armed peasant self-defense teams were developed, and a printing bureau was set up. Later, because of the enemy's frenzied encirclement and suppression, the base area was destroyed, and large numbers of revolutionary patriots were brutally killed. The Xiangbei Special Committee was ordered to move separately to the Jinggangshan and Yaogu Mountain areas. The existing building at the old site consists of two rooms, which have been restored and are open to the public.
