The Xiangyin Xiangjiang Bridge has a total length of 8,073.16 meters, of which the main bridge is 1,175.6 meters long and 16 meters wide, and the approach roads total 6,897.56 meters (including 4,364.56 meters on the east side and 2,533 meters on the west side). The total project investment was 210 million yuan. Construction began in March 2001 and the bridge was completed and opened to traffic on September 28, 2003. The completion of the Xiangyin Xiangjiang Bridge ended the history of crossing the river by ferry between Xiangyin County town and the west bank, provided a safe passage for flood control and emergency rescue in the lake region, and will play an important role in improving the operating efficiency of Provincial Highway 9308, expanding and upgrading the county town, and promoting economic development in the lake region.
