The site of the Pingjiang Uprising—Tianyue Academy—is located in the Pingjiang County Development Zone, covering an area of 5,948 square meters, with a building area of 3,907 square meters. On July 22, 1928, Peng Dehuai, Teng Daiyuan, Huang Gonglue, and others led and launched the famous "Pingjiang Uprising" here, establishing the Fifth Army of the Chinese Workers' and Peasants' Red Army. Inside the memorial hall are: the Pingjiang Uprising Historical Materials Exhibition, the Exhibition of Comrade Peng Dehuai's Glorious Achievements, the Exhibition of the Lives of Teng Daiyuan and Huang Gonglue, and the Exhibition of the Glorious Pingjiang Uprising Regiment. The exhibits include 136 precious physical objects and 162 photographs, including machine guns and bullets used by the Pingjiang Uprising troops and the crude guns and cannons used by the Pingjiang workers' and peasants' armed forces.
