It has beautiful scenery, with the Jiuqu Stream winding through the village, and nearby rolling hills such as Yangmei Ridge. The former residence is of civil structure, three bays wide, with a rear shed used as a kitchen. Wang Zhen was born here in April 1908, joined the Communist Party in 1927, and led his troops away from his hometown in 1930. He campaigned north and south throughout his life, was awarded the rank of general in 1955, and later served as Vice Premier of the State Council and Vice President of the People's Republic of China. He passed away in 1993. After the founding of the People's Republic of China, he returned to his hometown many times and stayed here. The house has not undergone major repairs, and now surrounded by new houses, the former residence appears even more old and simple. In 1994, Wang Zhen's former residence was listed as a cultural relic protection unit of Liuyang County. The local poet Pan Xinzhong praised it in a poem: "Fog lingers, cloud waves dark and uncollected, green mountains lose their verdure, all bearing sorrow."
Lone smoke cold and silent on the Tianshan Road, fine rain misty at the Black Water's head.
In Fengze Garden, frost covers the willows, in Nanniwan, wild geese cry in autumn.
Morning stars fall one by one from the sky, a line of poetry forms, choking the throat.
