Yaoqiao Spring and Stone is located in Liuyang City, Hunan Province. It is said to be the site where the Tang Dynasty medicine king Sun Simiao washed herbs and refined elixirs in Liuyang. East of Liuyang City, there is a small rolling hill called Sunyin Mountain, named because Sun Simiao once lived in seclusion here. The mountain has scenic spots such as Shengchong Temple, Yaoqiao (Medicine Bridge), Yaoging (Medicine Well), and Liandan Terrace (Elixir Refining Platform). Among them, the Yaoqiao Spring and Stone scenic spot is the best.
Zheng Xu, a county official of Liuyang in the Ming Dynasty, praised it in a poem: "Sun Simiao lived in this mountain for so many years, and the terrace still remains today. In the clouds, the elixir furnace is not seen, but under the bridge, the medicine-washing spring still flows. I visit to pray for rain for the people, lingering to take in the mountains and rivers. The towering stele records the ascension, how could such a scenic spot be spread in vain?"
