In addition to restoring the original houses, an auxiliary exhibition room was added. Deng Xiaoping and Chen Yun respectively inscribed "Former Residence of Cai Hesen" and "Former Site of the Founding Meeting of the Xinmin Society" plaques and museum names. The former site has now been opened as a patriotism education base. In 1988 it was announced as a provincial cultural relic protection unit.
