Bizhou Park is located on an isolated islet in the Lian River on the eastern side of Xiangxiang City's urban area. The islet is 760 meters long and 200 meters wide. The islet is overgrown with vegetation. Every spring and summer, fragrant grass grows lush, green willows droop low, spotted bamboos sway, and small boats ferry across—rich in the beauty of floral charm and willow sentiment, mountain countenance and water spirit. Hence the islet is also called Bizhou (Emerald Islet), and the ferry is called Fangdu (Fragrant Ferry).
